Mars-Jones News: July 2007

It's been a busy few months at Mars-Jones:

We're proud to announce that we achieved the Green Dragon Award.
We have taken stock of a number of new vehicles, some specifically for our central London deliveries and some new step frame double decked trailers for a really cost effective delivery solution.
We are pleased to now be providing warehousing, handling and sorting facilities for new customer Tyco Electronics UK Ltd.
We are also expanding again, with another new building - a 5,000 sq ft warehouse on our main site - giving us increased capacity for both storage and production.

This month Mars-Jones are pleased to announce:

New staff: we welcome Daniel Mars-Jones and a number of temporary staff who have now been offered permanent contracts
New customers: we are pleased to be working with The Allen Group, Chemipool and A Bun in the oven
Major expansion due to existing customers Mita launching a new range of products
Online stock management and product ordering for Mars-Jones' customers

It has been a really busy summer at Mars-Jones with lots of new orders, new customers and new staff. Details include:
Honeywell UK placed an order for 26,000 weatherboxes. 6 new staff were taken on for this new contract.
Additional work from Mita UK involving new processes, precision cutting and welding creating 2 new jobs in the fabrication department. Other additional operations taken on board from Mita UK creating in all 6 new jobs in our Assembly department.
We are pleased to welcome a new customer: Enco Products of Corwen. 8 new temporary staff were taken on to complete a job in September.
Other staff changes include Shirley Greenhalgh, who been taken on as Supervisor to assist Carol Evans our Factory Manager.

This month Mars-Jones are pleased to welcome a new customer, 'Catching Dreams'. Catching Dreams are a wholesale importer of pottery and ornamental items, with over 1000 product lines. Mars-Jones are now providing a de-stuffing service for Catching Dreams along with our standard Picking service; and with expected volumns of 30 - 40 orders per day we are happy to be working with them.
Our Assembly Department continues to experience strong growth this month, as new lines from MITA settle in and with Honeywell work continuing steadily. Future additional work from MITA is also planned, and Mars-Jones transport continues to be busy with additional work from all areas!
We are pleased to announce that our customer Easy Chemicals has seen a marked increase in demand for their already popular products this month, due to the superb weather and thus the increase in use of swimming pools etc.
Mars-Jones continued to invest in technology to improve the service we provide to our customers, with new Satellite Navigation / Tracking systems fitted to all our vehicles this month. All Mars-Jones customers can now track their deliveries, and this also means that our Traffic Office can provide speedy and accurate answers to any queries.

Mars-Jones are pleased to announce that we are working with a new customer for the first time this month - Ann Savva Promotions Ltd, Field Marketing Solutions, Distributors of O2 marketing literature to point of sale – 20,000 stores UK wide who provide their customers with project and campaign management, on-line reporting, warehousing, distribution, and call centre capabilities.
We were proud to support the P.C.A.G. (Prostate Cancer Awareness Group) Registered Charity with their fundraising event this month and wish Mr Anthony Marshall our Traffic Manager all the best in the forthcoming Edinburgh Marathon.
Mars-Jones continue to invest in technology to enhance the service we provide, and can now announce that Satellite Tracking will be fitted to all our vehicles during May – allowing customers to track their deliveries. This will also give our Traffic Office quicker and more accurate answers to any queries.
April was a packed month at Mars-Jones, with numerous consignments being sent abroad on our vehicles - providing an additional service for our customers.

Mars-Jones expanded this month into our new contract packing / assembly factory, with production lines now transferred to the new building.
Our 'Pick & Pack' contract assembly contracts have been as popular as ever this month, with Easy Chemicals ready for a busy spring and summer with new product lines; and MITA continuing to experience strong demand with deliveries up each week.
Mars-Jones is pleased to announce new transport contracts with new customers, involving the supply of vans for time sensitive deliveries for both Qioptiq Ltd and TRB Ltd

Mars-Jones continue to experience strong growth: we have further increased our distribution and delivery capabilities with the purchase of a new Flat Bed Drop Side Van.
We are pleased to welcome Neil Jones, who joined Mars-Jones this month as a van driver.
Building work has now been completed on the new contract packing / assembly factory at the Mars-Jones site, and production lines will be transferred during March.
As part of our investment in I.T, the Mars-Jones website was given an overhaul and went online last month with more content and a whole new look. Results have already been extremely encouraging, with visitor numbers increasing steadily.
